These Pictures are of the Ladies packing the food for the Back Pack Weekend Food Program. This food is packed in Book Bags and taken to three different schools each Friday so that the children that are in need will have food for the weekend.

The picture in the kitchen is the ladies preparing meals for families to come in and eat through the summer. We have many families that the children were on free or reduced lunches through the school year and truly need these meals. We delivered forty four sack lunches each day to families that had no transportation and we knew we had to feed these children. The ladies that delivered said that the children would be standing at the driveway jumping up and down with excitement that their meal had arrived. We had one little girl call and ask us each day were we coming to feed her. We knew we were doing the right thing when we heard these stories. At the end of each week we would send a bag of groceries home with them to help through the weekend.

The pictures with the truck is Tommy Harper helping to unload food for the Back To School Party.

The little cakes were a snack furnished by the Children's Church Children from New River Community Church. ( Cute )

The clothes on the two tables was one day of shopping for Blue Jeans for the Back to School Party. We had to have 476 pair of jeans. This was only 87 pair of jeans

The 476 Book Bags were completed by the ladies who had just finished preparing these for the children's Back to School Party. Each bag is supplied with everything the children will need for their first day of school.

This is the food being put in place for the ladies to cook and serve about 700 Hot Dog plates.

The Book Bags are from Prudential Georgia Realty on Chapel Hill Rd. They purchased and packed these bags.

The people knelt down beside them, and prayed over the bags for the care and protection of the children in the 2008 School Year.

A Gift of Love challenged the children last year not to miss a day of School. Juanita used her Granddaughter Ashley. Ashley had not missed a day of school in four years. We told them we would give them a party and a Volunteer told them his family would give each child $10.00 and Sertoma Club of Douglas County was giving $10.00. Three did it!  We had Ashley and a brother and sister. These are pictures of the party and the Volunteer gave $20.00 and Sertoma gave $ 10.00. We gave them a bag of gifts from the Community and a Certificate honoring them.

The girls around the red box were doing a skit. Joy, Ashley, Keri, Katie, Haley.

Tim Clay talking to the kids about the story of David and the Giant. He is sharing with the Kids about the Giants that they will be faced with this school year, drugs, alcohol, sex, lying and many more "Giants."  These kids were truly taking in what Tim had to tell them.

Tim Clay Jr. and the band: Clint, Eddie, Cory and Jessica: They brought the house down with songs and wonderful music. The kids were jumping up and down and signing having the time of their lives. We saw so many smiles that day.
